Royal Academy of Arts
London, U.K.
In 2001, the renovation of the Royal Academy of Arts, Britain’s oldest art school, began. The internationally renowned studio David Chipperfield Architects, which was involved in the project, did not hesitate to contact Agglotech and its partner and exclusive distributor for the UK, InOpera Group, to supply the best terrazzo for floors, stairs and solid wood elements.

the project
InOpera, our trusted UK partner and retailer, supplied two custom colors of terrazzo for the exhibition gallery and some common parts of the building using white Carrara and Botticino marble chips. Exclusively for the “Benjamin West Lecture Theater” classroom, Agglotech created solid terrazzo steps 20 cm thick obtained directly from the block and subsequently cut and shaped in the factory; here is the unmistakable signature of the work: a carefully inserted Calacatta Lincoln marble inlay.
