Times Square – Shanghai
Shanghai, Cina
Shanghai Times Square, within the Pudong district, is the result of the reconfiguration work of the former commercial building which currently houses 170 venues including fashion brands, lifestyle shops and numerous restaurants, for a total surface area of over 50,000 m2. For this project, the Nendo architecture studio chose Agglotech’s Venetian terrace to cover part of the flooring and internal walls.

the project
The terrace supplied by Agglotech in three different colors defines and characterizes part of the internal floors and coverings of the new Shanghai Times Square in China, giving them uniqueness and personality made in Italy. The SB240 Torcello was used to recall, in some rooms of the building, the typical tradition of the Venetian seminato thanks to its large white marble chips distributed in a gray cement base. To give the room brightness and chromatic continuity, the material was laid in the SB1000 Thassos colour, an agglomerate of cement-marble created by mixing micro grains obtained directly from the white quarries of Thassos, in Greece. Finally, through a completely custom made terrace characterized by a delicate orange colour, the environment becomes an expression of a modern style where austerity is mitigated giving space to an entirely Italian creativity.
