Agglotech, by using a cold production process, radically limits CO2 emissions into the air, a major contributor to ongoing climate change.
A few years ago, it adopted a long-term strategy to be able to further reduce the loss of carbon dioxide into the air during the production process. This is to encourage a sustainable future that respects the environment around us.

As proof of its commitment, Agglotech has achieved Indoor Advantage Gold certification. The Indoor Advantage Gold
standard aligns with both ANSI/BIFMA M7.1 and X7.1, and CA 01350. It is recognised by the EPA and GSA and qualifies for many building rating systems, including LEED v4, BREEAM, WELL Building and Living Building Challenge.

Architectural Terrazzo:
an environmentally friendly product

Agglotech obtained the prestigious, internationally recognised EPD (Environmental Product Declaration) certification to attest the sustainability of the Architectural Terrazzo. To achieve this, it collected and provided the certifying body with data on the use of energy and environmental resources used in the production of the Terrazzo, and finally underwent the LCA (Life Cycle Assessment). The latter is the heart of the EPD, an operational tool used to analyse the environmental impact of a product or service during all phases of its life cycle. Already during the initial analysis phase, strongly rewarding aspects emerged in the construction of the Environmental Declaration, linked above all to the use of raw materials coming entirely from the waste of other types of processing (Secondary Raw Materials), which make it possible to strongly lower the impact for the purposes of the EPD path; another important component for obtaining the certification was the use of the ‘water resource’ coming from rainwater collection.

Sustainable raw materials

In order to keep emission levels low, Agglotech employs multiple renewable raw materials, which have countless advantages, among them their CO2 neutrality, promoting almost total environmental sustainability.
Renewable raw materials do not present an availability risk as they can be regenerated at the end of each consumption cycle, thus avoiding the current problem of difficult availability.
Agglotech products are therefore manufactured through the constant search for natural raw materials mixed without the use of chemicals and resin-free, developing a completely eco-friendly production cycle.

Water sustainability

In order to sustain a minimal environmental impact and to be more respectful of local communities, state-of-the-art machinery has been installed in the company’s factories, allowing the reuse of water resources required by the terrazzo processing plants.
Furthermore, Agglotech only uses rainwater in the production process that is free of limescale, chlorine and detergents. The rainwater filtration and drainage systems aim to look to the future, with less waste and more sustainability.
