For the new insurance headquarters in Winterthur, Switzerland, the Agglotech Venetian terrace was chosen by the designers in the SB174 Moncervetto color, a color characterized by a very delicate gray and enriched by marble flakes of different sizes and colours. For the external terrazzo flooring, facing the internal courtyard of the structure, the agglomerate of marble and cement was worked with a “brushed” finish to bring out the veins of the marble and thus accentuate its characteristic colours. The internal floors, however, were worked with a “polished” finish, thus guaranteeing good slip resistance and proving suitable for public environments with particular anti-slip regulations. The main drivers that led the designers to choose the Venetian terrace are the strong resistance to wear, therefore ideal for environments with frequent foot traffic, and the stylistic and design versatility, which allows the creation of special elements such as the reception desk at the entrance of the building. Finally, in addition to the cladding of the stairs, the notable flexibility of processing and application of the marble and cement grit material also made it possible to clad the internal walls of the structure, according to a geometry specifically studied by the designers.
