Tokiwabashi Tower

The Tokiwabashi Tower is part of the ongoing ten-year development of the Tokiwabashi district in the city of Tokyo. The imposing 212 meter structure, with a surface area of over 140,000 square metres, houses numerous offices and shops. For this important construction, the marble-cement cladding supplied by Agglotech contributed to enriching the minimal and contemporary charm of the building.

The design idea of the Tokiwabashi Tower is based on the harmony between the simplicity of the architectural lines and the elegance of the materials. In this context, Agglotech’s Venetian terrace was chosen to cover some large vertical surfaces with style and refinement. There are two colors identified by the designers to create captivating geometries on the walls: SB143 Bianco Carrara 25 and SB240 Torcello. The bright and brilliant nuance of the terrazzo worked with the precious white Carrara marble was combined with a gray Venetian seminato. The result with its original scenographic effect demonstrates the extraordinary stylistic versatility of the marble and concrete material, as well as its flexibility of application. Marble quality, natural gradations and stylistic refinement define the essential but evocative mood of the new Tokyo tower.
