Vrak, Museum of Wrecks
Stoccolma, Svezia
The maritime archaeology museum Vrak, Museum of Wrecks transports its visitors on a deep dive among the wrecks and historical remains of the Baltic Sea. In order to lend authenticity and sophistication to the architectural design, marble grit and concrete cladding from Agglotech was chosen.

the project
Located in the small town of Djurgården in Stockholm, the building is surrounded by old shipyards, wrecks and the Baltic Sea itself. The design concept was inspired by the naturalness of the surfaces consisting only of marble grit, Portland cement and water. The dining area and bathrooms of the museum were therefore enhanced by Agglotech’s Venetian-style flooring, in the original SB130 Aggloceppo colour. Characterised by variform marble flakes distributed in a delicate grey background, this particular version of Venetian terrazzo gives uniqueness and refinement to the whole environment. The remarkable versatility and ductility of the marble-cement material has also made it possible to clad the horizontal walls of the bathrooms and the washbasin tops. Not only that, in order to guarantee maximum hygiene and to avoid the nesting of dirt and bacteria in the cracks created between the perimeter walls and the floor, the skirting board was worked and polished to make the covering between the walls and the floor continuous and without edges.
